Privacy Policy

Your data stays on your device unless you publish.

Pitbox Moto is a motorcycle service records and garage management app built by Poolside Studios. We designed it from the ground up to work on your device — no accounts, no cloud sync, and no servers of ours for your garage. One optional feature, sharing a tire record to Treadbox.io, is described below.

Nothing about you.

We do not collect your name, your email address or any account. The only data that can ever reach us is a tire record you publish yourself (see Treadbox.io below). Here is what that means in plain terms:

• No name, email address, or contact information is ever requested or stored.
• Your location is used only when you tap a locate button — to find the nearest gas station, or to name your region when you share tire data. It is never tracked or stored.
• No analytics, usage statistics, or behavioral data is gathered.
• No crash reporting or diagnostics data is sent to any server.
• No advertising identifiers or tracking cookies are used.
• No account creation is required — or possible.

Yours, completely.

All data you enter into Pitbox Moto — bike profiles, service records, fuel logs, costs, notes, photos — is stored locally on your device using Apple's built-in storage frameworks.

This data does not leave your device through us, except a tire record you choose to publish to Treadbox.io. It is not backed up to our servers. If you use Apple's iCloud Backup, that data may be included in your personal iCloud backup under Apple's privacy policy — but that is between you and Apple, not us.

If you delete the app, all data is deleted with it. We have no copy and no way to recover it.

No third-party SDKs. No trackers.

Pitbox Moto does not include any third-party analytics libraries, advertising SDKs, or tracking frameworks. There are no hidden integrations that could send your data anywhere.

The external services the app uses are Apple's App Store for purchase verification (if you unlock a paid feature), Apple's maps and location services when you tap a locate button, and — only if you publish a tire record — Treadbox.io, described below. Apple's services are handled entirely by Apple under their own privacy policy.

Sharing is off by default. You decide, record by record.

Treadbox.io is a public site of real-world tire results from riders. Pitbox Moto can send one of your tire records there, but only if you open a tire record and tap Publish. Nothing is sent automatically, in the background, or for records you did not publish.

What is sent when you publish:

• Your bike's make, model and category (and year, weight or engine size if you entered them).
• The tires: brand, model and size, the distance you rode on them, the dates, tread depth, and what you paid if you entered it.
• Your ratings and observations (grip, wear, noise, wobble), and any free-text notes exactly as you typed them.
• Optionally, a coarse region such as a state or county that you pick. Only that name is sent, never your coordinates or a city.
• Optionally, photos of the tires. Before upload, every photo is re-saved without its hidden data (location, camera and date information are removed).
• A random reference number for the record and the app version.

What is never sent: your name, email address, Apple ID, GPS location, VIN or licence plate. Please avoid showing a plate or your face in photos you choose to share.

Your control. The first time you publish, the app creates a random key that is kept in your iPhone's Keychain (it may sync to your other devices through your iCloud Keychain). It is pseudonymous: tied to a random contributor key, not to your name, email or Apple ID; it only lets Treadbox.io know that a later request comes from the same phone, so you can unpublish or delete your own record from the app at any time. Unpublish takes the record off the public pages. Delete removes it. If you lose the key, you can ask us to remove a record (below).

Moderation. Published records are reviewed before they appear on Treadbox.io.

Where it lives. Treadbox.io (treadbox.io) is hosted on Cloudflare. Records are public once they appear; they carry no name or email. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising or tracking.

Removal. To have a record or photo removed, email pitboxmotosupport@icloud.com with the bike and tire so we can find it.

Safe for all ages by design.

Since we collect no personal information from anyone, there is nothing to distinguish about users of any age. Pitbox Moto does not collect data from children or adults.

If anything changes, you'll know.

If we ever update this privacy policy in a way that affects how your data is handled, we will update this page and revise the effective date at the top. Given the nature of the app, we do not anticipate meaningful changes — but we are committed to being transparent if anything shifts.
